Project Overview

We partnered with the City of Paradise to transform their Council Chambers into a modern, connected meeting space. Located in a growing rural community, the goal was to equip the space with reliable live streaming, wireless presentation, and intuitive audio-visual controls to increase transparency and community access to meetings. The challenge? The facility was a steel-converted structure that presented unique issues with signal interference and network stability.

Challenges & Goals

Paradise’s leadership wanted to:

  • Deliver stable live streaming in a steel structure, overcoming interference and network issues.

  • Improve internal AV distribution, ensuring clear visuals and audio for all attendees.

  • Build in redundancy, so meetings could still be published online even if the live stream failed.

  • Enable remote management for real-time support and maintenance.

Being a remote rural city, Paradise also needed a system that was easy to service and support from a distance.

Solutions & Implementation

That’s where we came in. At ImageNet Consulting, we designed and delivered a smart, efficient AV system that ticked every box for the City of Paradise’s needs.

Core System:
We implemented a Q-SYS networked control processor as the central hub for video distribution and remote monitoring of all AV endpoints. This design keeps the system running smoothly, even in a remote location.

Visual Display:
Two 75” Sony commercial displays were installed to provide clear visuals to everyone in the room. Content is delivered wirelessly through the Barco ClickShare CX-30, which also enables video conferencing when needed.

Live Streaming & Redundancy:
An Extron SMP 352 encoder handles live streaming to a dedicated URL while recording a backup file on an internal server. This ensures that even if the live stream experiences issues, the meeting can still be uploaded to the city’s public website later.

Audio Solutions:
We used a Sennheiser TeamConnect Ceiling Microphone for clear, consistent audio capture throughout the 20x20 ft space. Two PoE-powered soundbars behind the mayor provide excellent playback quality.

Video Capture:
A Q-SYS NC-110 wide-angle PTZ camera was installed at the back of the chamber to capture a comprehensive view of the room.

Implementation Process:
Our team worked closely with the city IT team to ensure everything went off without a hitch. We marked the walls where additional outlets were needed, giving the city time to coordinate electrical work ahead of our install. The installation itself was smooth, quiet, and professional, with no surprises.

Results & Impact

The new system has made a big difference:

  • Meetings can now be recorded and posted online, helping reduce citizen complaints about government transparency.

  • The system is stable, reliable, and easy to manage, even from afar.

  • Council meetings now run more smoothly, with better visuals and audio for everyone involved.

Client Feedback

"Yes, I’d recommend ImageNet—though with the caveat that quality costs. People here are used to improvising temporary solutions, not paying for stable, long-term solutions."

Why ImageNet?

"Initially, I was hesitant because of the price, but ImageNet’s networking and technical expertise won the project. Their patience, professionalism, and technical capabilities proved invaluable. The City Council ultimately saw the value and approved the proposal—something I didn’t expect at first."

Looking Ahead

The City of Paradise now has a Council Chamber equipped with modern AV capabilities that align with their goals for transparency and accessibility. We’re excited to continue supporting them with any future needs.

Conclusion

This project shows how even small communities can benefit from thoughtful AV integration. By focusing on reliability, remote support, and easy operation, we helped the City of Paradise bring their vision for a modern, accessible Council Chamber to life—and we’re proud to have been part of it.
