Client Name: Colorado Mesa University
Location: University Center Building, Second Floor
Industry: Higher Education
Project Date: January 2025
We partnered with Colorado Mesa University to upgrade the digital signage on the second floor of their University Center Building, a central hub where students, faculty, and visitors gather daily. The existing displays, which were responsible for showing classroom schedules and ballroom event information, were experiencing frequent issues that affected visibility and reliability.
Our mission was to deliver a modern, reliable, and visually engaging signage solution that improved communication across campus while streamlining management for the university’s IT team.
The university’s previous signage displays had reached the end of their lifespan and could no longer maintain the performance required for continuous operation. Key challenges included:
Outdated displays that lacked the brightness and resolution necessary for a high-traffic environment.
Inconsistent system performance that caused disruptions to classroom and event scheduling visibility.
A need for seamless integration with existing Crestron control and digital signage management systems to avoid workflow interruptions.
The goal was to create a future-proof solution that offered superior image quality, reliability, and centralized control for daily operations.
At ImageNet Consulting, we designed a solution built for clarity, reliability, and simplicity of management.
Display Upgrade:
We replaced the existing displays with Sony BRAVIA Professional 4K HDR displays, known for their exceptional brightness, color accuracy, and energy efficiency. These commercial-grade units are designed for 24/7 operation—perfect for an academic environment that demands consistent uptime.
System Integration:
The new displays were fully integrated with Colorado Mesa University’s Crestron control system, allowing staff to manage power, scheduling, and source selection effortlessly. We also connected the displays to the university’s digital signage platform, ensuring seamless updates to classroom schedules and event information.
Collaborative Deployment:
Our team worked closely with the university’s IT department throughout the implementation process to minimize disruption and ensure a smooth transition. Together, we verified network integration, tested scheduling automations, and trained staff on system operation and content management.
The result was a streamlined digital signage system that provides reliable, real-time communication across one of the busiest areas of campus.
The upgrade brought immediate and measurable improvements to the University Center Building:
Enhanced Communication: The new digital signage delivers real-time updates for classrooms and events, improving the flow of information for students, faculty, and visitors.
Improved User Experience: The 4K HDR displays provide crisp, vibrant visuals that make schedules and announcements easier to read and more engaging.
Increased Reliability: Built for 24/7 performance, the Sony BRAVIA Professional displays have minimized downtime and maintenance needs.
Future-Ready Management: Integration with Crestron and the university’s digital signage software ensures that administrators can easily update content and maintain consistent operation for years to come.
The Colorado Mesa University digital signage project demonstrates how strategic technology upgrades can transform campus communication. By combining commercial-grade Sony BRAVIA displays, Crestron control integration, and streamlined digital signage management, we provided a reliable and visually dynamic solution that enhances both functionality and experience.
At ImageNet Consulting, we’re proud to help educational institutions modernize their technology infrastructure and look forward to continuing our partnership with Colorado Mesa University and other campuses across the region.
